Pure View®
2025
The same painting, the same words. Through the innocent eyes of the child, look at oneself, look at others, paint mountains and rivers, paint the familiar and the unfamiliar, paint the world, paint the future.
“The essence of education means that one tree shakes another tree, one cloud pushes another cloud, and one soul awakens another soul.”
The “Pure View® Dagaji Village” event in 2025 is a vivid illustration of this awakening.
This is our second visit to Big Gajee. Seven years ago, we left behind profound memories:

On the night of arriving in Kunming and gathering together, we checked and counted the supplies in the dormitory.
The “Pure View®” event in 2026 is expected to take place in Vietnam.
The tentative dates are: July 20th – July 30th, 2026.
01. Arriving
Building bridges with your gaze
On that day when we returned to Dagaji Village, the gentle breeze blowing in the sunlight stirred up the fine dust on the road, and we could smell the familiar scent of this land.

Teacher Li Jie distributed professional painting tools and materials to the local children.
After moving into the student dormitory, the conditions have improved compared to those in 2018.

The hustle and bustle of the market is still as lively as it was seven years ago. In the baskets on the backs of the elderly grandmothers, there are all the meticulous details of their lives. For the children who were the first to sketch at the market, there was the same mixture of joy and curiosity in their eyes.
Pure View with Dagaji Village Day 1 | Eight Years, Reunion and Gaze Amidst the Fireworks
We drew each other’s portraits, putting the other into the paper and then into our hearts. The distance that was once unfamiliar but now feels familiar is merely the earnestness reflected in each other’s eyes. Every stroke is an act of self-acknowledgment –
I saw you, and I also saw myself.

02. Sketching
The “ordinary” that is noticed
Pigsty, corn rack, distant mountains shrouded in mist…
Beauty is never far away; it lies just one inch above your eyes.

The piglets in the pigsty were panting as they searched for food in the trough, their tails brushing against the weeds at the base of the wall. However, the stench of the pigsty, rising from the heat, was indeed not particularly pleasant.

The corn was spread out on the drying ground, each kernel swollen under the weight of the sun. Sun-dried and then baked, it produced a gradually darker skin and an inspired artistic quality.

The heat is unbearable. Local children share their “heat-relief gadgets”.

The pumpkins placed at the base of the wall and the unripe bananas are the most common items in Dagaji Village’s daily life.

Those trivial matters that were overlooked by adults sprouted wings in the hands of children: the pig had brown patches, the corn husks were flowing yellow, even the moss in the cracks of the wall became the green fabric woven by time.
Under the scorching sun, the little shade beside the simple bathroom, and the dust raised beside the simple stove, all became our unforgettable daily scenes.

Beauty is the present moment that is carefully observed with the heart.
03. Reunion
Art is the eternal light.
In 2018, that autistic boy who was immersed in his own world has now returned to the sunshine of Dagaji Village with a portfolio, to visit us.
In his paintings, the lines change from trembling to firm, just like the path he has walked.——Pure View®️Continuation: Liu Kejiang’s Solo Exhibition, The Inner World of a 13-Year-Old Autistic Child Over the Past Few Years
Art is the magic of healing, and it is also the courage that keeps life shining.
We see perseverance, and we also see – art never gives up on anyone.
04. Classroom
The world unfolds through interaction.
From shell money to Peking Opera masks, from the other side of the earth to “I want to become… when I grow up” – the evolution of currency holds the codes of human civilization, while the water sleeves of Peking Opera brush across the winds of the past and the future.
The blackboard is small, but it can hold the universe; the classroom is old, but it can accommodate the future.
What is even more precious are the laughter shared in the secret base, and the chasing that occurs without distinction between us during games.
“Pure View®” has never been a one-way act of giving; rather, it is a process of illuminating each other.
05. Song
Different languages, singing the same heart
In the song “Survival and Renewal” sung by the Dagaji Village children, there is the tenacity of the mountains;
In the song “We Are the World” sung by the young volunteers, there is the warmth of the beating heart.
When we sing the same song, we come to understand that the joys and sorrows of humanity are not incomprehensible; it’s just that we need the courage to be heard.
The song floats over the roof, and suddenly the world becomes very close, so close that it reduces to just one sentence – “We”.
06. Farewell
The embrace holds eternity within.
When tears soaked my shoulders, I truly understood the meaning of reunion.
The tears were hot, but not sad. They turned into seeds and fell on everyone’s next destination.
The car drove far away, and in the rearview mirror, I could still see the waving hands, like corn plants swaying in the wind.
The muddy paths we trod together, the floors we sat on, the fields and grassy areas we crossed, and the clouds we painted together – all these have long been engraved in our lives.
Parting is not the end; it’s about holding the warmth close to our hearts and continuing on to a farther destination.
In the daily life of Dagaji Village

The children received their own exhibition certificates.
From 2018 to 2025, a period of 7 years, we had two encounters. During this time, we witnessed changes.

Of course, some things remain the same…

Inevitably, there are still some regrets…

But it doesn’t matter. Even the smallest flame has its own temperature.
Look forward to our next meeting!
07. Exhibition
The first stop of the exhibition – Kunming
In the 108 Think Tank space in Kunming, the lights came on and the children’s paintings were solemnly hung up.

Exhibition Site of Kunming 108 Think Tank

Teacher Li Jie presented the “Love Certificate” to the volunteers.
The collectors were all deeply moved by the children’s paintings. They collected the children’s works and generously donated funds to the “Penghua Charity Fund” account, providing strong support for subsequent charity activities.
When art can pave the way back home, the left-behind children will find the brightest lighthouse.

Collectors are enthusiastically collecting.

Thank you to the volunteers for their kind donations.
The meaning of “Pigment Painting” goes beyond mere painting. It is to make each participant understand that we are both the shaken trees and the wind that drives the clouds. In each other’s lives, we complete a gentle encounter and continue it continuously…
The so-called “encounter” is to enable the eyes in the city to learn to bow down, and to allow the hands in the countryside to pick up the brush.
08. Exhibition
Next stop – Singapore
The next stop of the exhibition – Singapore, is currently under preparation…
Let’s join hands and let purity be seen by the world.
The “Pure View®” event in 2026 is expected to take place in Vietnam.
