Born in Hubei in 1971. Since 1999, he has participated in the “Supermarket” exhibition in Shanghai and started to practice and create contemporary art. Taking video and photography as the main creative medium, he is one of the important artists in the past ten years.

Chen Xiaoyun’s works always present the creative style of the artist’s poetic narrative. The perceptual thinking runs through the image narrative structure, and uses the personalized consciousness fragments as the image form to ferry to the real world. The work is often overlapped, refined, abstracted by a headline, a dialogue, an action, and the world we know is more crazy and absurd, or more hesitant and nothing.
